Dear member,
I hope you’ve been enjoying the recent good weather. We’ve had some lovely sunshine here at the Club and seen the beginnings a season of great sunsets!
I am pleased to report Newport Boat Club is now incorporated, as agreed by members at the last AGM and is officially Newport Boat Club Ltd – though you won’t see any changes on our signage at the Clubhouse.
Talking of signage, when you next visit https://www.newportboatclub.co.uk/ you will notice a whole new website (the site is changing over between now and tomorrow). We hope you will enjoy the new look, more menus/headings, extra information, easy to find news items and updates, and additional features such as annual tide tables. The website is much easier for us to keep up to date for you.
We have invested in a webcam accessible from the weather/tides drop down which provides a panoramic view, ‘panning’ view from the river channel joining the sea, across to Morfa Head to the pool of moorings near the clubhouse. Unfortunately, it is not currently online, as since installing it has been interfered with several times. It will be available again once we have re-sited it to a harder to reach position.
From 10th June, annual subscription rates for new members will be £65 for Adult members and £32.50 for 18-25 Young Adult members – both with a £10 joining fee.
Open day is June 10th, starting at 11.30am for waterside activities and bar opening, with live music at 3.00pm – see website for further details. Do bring friends and please spread the word!
It’s lovely to see an increasing number of boats on the water. Please remember it's up to you check tides and do your own risk assessments and do refer to RYA guidelines for any guidance.
Our Whitsun opening times are:
Saturday 27th May – Thursday 1st June 12.00 to 9pm*
Friday 2nd June 12.00 to 10pm*
Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June 12.00 to 9.00pm*
*Staff may close earlier if no trade.
